I always thought there was nothing I could do to get PPZ3 working on modern windows PCs, because I had no idea what was causing it to not work, and I didn't have access to several of the plugins that were used to make parts of the game work (ie they weren't provided by Darkbasic, they were created by users of Darkbasic, and are not available anywhere online now) but this weekend some things just came together, the stars aligned, took a lot of work, and it seems I have solved it! Forgot to post here at the time, Parsec and I worked on a game for Ludum Dare #44 last month - the theme was "Your life is currency", we made a platformer about a cat climbing out of hell.  You can (after the first attempt) exchange any number of your nine lives for upgrades to make the ascent easier, but riskier, as you then have less chances to make the climb.
